There are numerous ideologies that shape political, social, economic, and cultural perspectives around the world. Here are some of the major types of ideologies:

Liberalism: Liberalism emphasizes individual rights, freedom, equality, and the rule of law. It often advocates for a limited government that protects civil liberties and promotes market-based economies.

Conservatism: Conservatism stresses traditional values, institutions, and social stability. It typically favors a smaller government, free-market economics, and often advocates for preserving established social norms and hierarchies.

Socialism: Socialism advocates for collective ownership or control of the means of production, distribution, and exchange. It aims for greater social and economic equality, often through government intervention in the economy and the provision of social welfare programs.

Communism: Communism seeks to establish a classless society where the means of production are owned collectively. It often involves the abolition of private property and the establishment of a centrally planned economy, with the ultimate goal of achieving a stateless, moneyless society.

Fascism: Fascism is characterized by authoritarianism, nationalism, and the suppression of dissent. It often glorifies the nation or race, promotes strong leadership, and seeks to mobilize society towards a unified purpose, often at the expense of individual freedoms.

Anarchism: Anarchism advocates for the abolition of all forms of coercive hierarchy, including government, and promotes voluntary cooperation and self-governance among individuals and communities.

Feminism: Feminism focuses on achieving political, economic, and social equality between genders. It encompasses various strands, including liberal feminism, radical feminism, and socialist feminism, each with different approaches to addressing gender inequality.

Environmentalism: Environmentalism emphasizes the protection of the natural environment and sustainable development. It often advocates for policies to mitigate climate change, conserve biodiversity, and promote environmental justice.

Nationalism: Nationalism prioritizes the interests and identity of a particular nation or ethnic group. It often emphasizes cultural, linguistic, or historical ties among members of the nation and may advocate for policies that promote national sovereignty and unity.

Capitalism: Capitalism is an economic system characterized by private ownership of the means of production, free markets, and profit-driven enterprise. It emphasizes competition and individual initiative, with prices and production determined by supply and demand.

These are just a few examples, and there are many other ideologies and variations within each category. Additionally, individuals and societies may subscribe to a combination of ideologies or hold beliefs that do not neatly fit into any single category.

An ideology is a set of norms and values on which communities live by, within a community there can be many ideologies which can be separated by inequality (such as age gender and ethnic minority).

There will always be a dominant ideology also known as a hegemony ( the ideology that most people live by and believe to be correct).

It is uncertain how many different ideologies there are and what they are as different parts of the world have different beliefs and therefore different norms and values.

To understand ideology you must look at the community through a sociological point of view.
