there are different materials that make the pjs. satin and cotton are popular.
both girls and boys can wear boxer shorts and a nice ribbed tshirt to bed as well.

I don't know about guys, but girls are comfortable in shorts or pajama pants and a t-shirt. It doesnt really matter, as long as you're comfortable.
