If it leaks, change it. If it's not leaking, I wouldn't be worried about whether it's going bad, just wait for it to leak.

yes
There could be several symptoms. But the most common would be overheating with the water in the radiator staying cold. If the water in the radiator is hot, the thermostat is opening. If it takes a long time for the water to get hot, (heater takes a long time to warm up) the thermostat may be stuck open.
when my camshaft sensor was going bad, the vehicle refused to crank after being driven and parked for a few minutes. If you wait a little while it may crank. I heard of people pouring water on the sensor casing to crank them also.
could be your thermostat or you have no antifreeze coolant or your water pump is going bad
There are a few symptoms, though most symptoms could be other cooling system problems Like a Radiator with clogged passageways, a bad thermostat, a blown head-gasket. etc... Indicators are coolant temps higher than normal, a slight whine under the hood, overheating. A good way to check it is to find the weep hole on the water pump. It is a little port that "weeps" or drips when the pump is about to fail. The weep hole should be on the underside of the water pump.
low oil pressure if you have a guage instead of a light and usually accompanied by valves ticking showing the need for more oil.
