It should not be a problem to combine these two medications when each is taken as prescribed by a doctor; nonetheless, always consult your doctor when you have a question about your medications and never take prescription medications without your doctor's instruction to do so. One fairly tame issue is that these medications both cause dehydration, and if you combine the two, you will find yourself needing to drink much more water than you normally would.

Hydroxyzine is known for having sedative effects, which can obviously become dangerous in the case of an overdose but when taken at its normal dose it can simply diminish the stimulating effects of stimulants like dextroamphetamine (Adderall) at bedtime the way one might expect a benzodiazepine such as diazepam (Valium in the US) or other sedative to do similarly, except hydroxyzine does not have euphoric side-effects.

If you are combining these two medications and you are not under the instruction of a doctor to do so, there do not seem to be any particularly worrisome interactions to be expected of the combination when compared to abuse of the drugs separately, but do be aware of some potential dangers. One is that hydroxyzine is a first generation antihistamine, like diphenhydramine(Benadryl in the US), and, as with other first generation antihistamines, hallucinations and delirium have been reported with both drugs, although these side-effects are very rare with small doses; however, dextroamphetamine (Adderall in the US) may increase the likelihood of encountering these side-effects. Central Nervous System stimulants such as Adderall are anecdotally known to strengthen diphenhydramine's deliriant effects, and it is possible that a similar interaction may be expected from hydroxyzine. A cursory Google search does not provide reason to believe there is anecdotal evidence of a similar interaction in the case of hydroxyzine, but similarity between the drugs dyphenhydramine and hydroxyzine make the possibility be one worth considering.

I feel it is necessary to correct the previous answer to this question which I have replaced completely with this one.

The combination of "uppers" (stimulants) with "downers" (depressants; not "anti-depressants" as the previous contributer said) is not, in its own right, dangerous. This is an urban legend within the recreational drug user community stemming from reports of the dangerous drug combination known as a "speedball" which is a combination of cocaine, a stimulant, with heroin (or often morphine instead), a depressant. While this is undoubtedly a dangerous mixture, it is not dangerous for combining drugs with contrary effects, but rather either for causing the user to more easily overdose from either drug because he or she perceives a greater tolerance due to some of the effects of each drug counteracting the effects of the other, or to cause the user to succumb to the suffocation dangers of opiates like heroin when the cocaine wears off and he or she falls into sedation. (Thus, in some sick way, it is most often because the user comes off of the effects of the stimulant, rather than the fact he or she has combined it with a depressant, that he or she has died from this combination.) Further, there are countless drug preparations which are approved to be prescribed or sold over the counter in the United States and elsewhere in the world that combine stimulants and depressants. An apt example would be dimenhydrinate (Dramamine in the US; Gravol in Canada) which is a combination of the drug diphenhydramine (Benadryl in the US), a depressant, and 8-chlorotheophylline, a stimulant similar to caffeine, intended to counteract drowsiness. Likewise, many FDA-approved barbiturate preparations contain stimulants intended to counteract drowsiness.

It depends on many factors, like your body and the amount of both of those drugs that you took, how much you've taken it before, etc.

This is what most druggies refer to as a "Speedball", which is when you take an upper "stimulant" and a downer "depressant" at the same time. Most people like it because of the double euphoric effects, but at the same time it is really dangerous to your central nervous system in large doses, and if you don't know what you're doing. Because I'm assuming you're aren't prescribed both of those drugs, it seems like an odd mix. And if you are, I highly advise to kick one of them, but I couldn't tell you which one, because honestly they both suck to get addicted to and you build a dependance quickly and easily.

Anyways, the effects could be respiratory failure, because while your heart is trying to beat faster it is at the same time trying to slow down, which it ultimately could just stop. This is if you take them at extreme dosages but in any case you should talk to a doctor, given that you are not taking these illegally.

Hydroxyzine hcl, taken in combination with Vicodin, 5~7.5~10 Norco, potentiates the effects felt from the Vicodin, this is generally safe, but not unless under the direct supervision of a competent Dr.

You can take both together, although the actions of the medications will have opposite effects. Adderall is a stimulate as where percocets can make you feel tired or drowsy.
