The only effects are those created by people who battle over supposed issues. The fact is that there is no legitimate reason for any effect to result from one's sexual preference or orientation. What one decides for himself or herself is between that person and his or her partner. It is personal and private--two words that are contraindicated with the use of the term "society;" the two terms are mutually exclusive.
