What are the effects of human activities on the arctic ecosystem?

Answer:
Humans have invented machines such as the air-conditioner, cars and other hi-tech devices. These all run on energy provided by fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are burnt to obtain energy, and giving out carbon dioxide in the process. Burning of petroleum also causes a release of carbon dioxide into the air. Greenhouse gases are also given out by industries. These will lead to greenhouse gases trapping heat rays from the Sun on Earth, causing the temperature to rise. The ice caps at the Arctic will melt due to the heat. Animals living in the Arctic will experience heat and a smaller habitat as ice caps are slowly melting away. A lack of food will also lead to animals dying from starvation.
