What are the five main parts of a leaf and what is each part's function? |
[Edit] |
The upper most part is the waxy layer, it protects the leaf from loosing water. Then come the tightly packed palicade layer, with plaicade cells with chloroplasts. these chloroplast contain chlorophyll, that cathes the sun's energy. Then is the spongy cells layer, which catch and hold CO2 and water vapour. There are 1 or 2 viens, that carry the photosynthesised food to the rest of the plant. Other parts of a leaf are stomata, epidermis and guard cells.
