Concerto. More specifically, violin concerto. Even more specifically, solo violin concerto (as opposed to concertos for two or more violins, which Vivaldi and others also wrote).

Vivaldi's Four Seasons are programme music. Someone (it might easily have been Vivaldi himself) wrote four sonnets, each describing one of the four seasons. You can find the Italian texts with English translations by Googling vivaldi four seasons sonnets. The music illustrates these sonnets practically line by line.

The Four Seasons is a set of four three-movement concertos for solo violin and string orchestra written by Antonio Vivaldi. They are a very early example of program music, in that each one is based on a Sonnet describing a scene in one of the four seasons. Some recordings have included the text of the sonnets with the program notes.
