The questions you get in math class, serve to engage your brain into trying to use the theory that you have been taught. It may be difficult but stick with it. In high-school I was initially considered completely useless at Physics until I spent a little time working my way through problems. I now understand (to a degree) complex theories and am currently embroiled in a dispute about Quantum Cosmology and the reasons why it has a few flaws (best I can do for a title). Stick with it and your brain will adapt - you might even find that you like it.
