Although not proven scientifically, some religions believe that pregnant women should stay indoors during a solar eclipse to prevent the baby from developing birth defects.

Hindus also believe that water becomes undrinkable and food becomes inedible.

The only proven scientific fact about from a solar eclispse is if you watch it without adequate protection for you eyes you can go blind.

Physically, absolutely none which have been proven scientifically with the exception of protecting your eyes by not looking directly at the eclipse.

There are various myths that persist in many religions based on ignorance.

A solar eclipse happens when the moon moves in front of the sun as seen from a location on Earth. During a solar eclipse it gets dimer outside as more of the sun is covered by the moon. During a total eclipse, the entire sun is covered for a few minutes and it becomes very dark outside. The temperature outside also drops.

It has no effect at all on the earth as a whole. In a very small area near the path of totality, the temperature of the air may drop a bit temporarily, and birds and wildlife prepare temporarily for night as the light fails. The main effect of a solar eclipse, noticeable only in the areas covered by totality and the highest percentages of coverage, is on the population and the local economy, as people quit working and stand around with their mouths open watching the phenomenon taking place in the sky.

Nothing much. A solar eclipse is nothing more than a shadow; it causes no PHYSICAL change at all.
