What are the human impacts on the Amazon basin? |
Answer
The impacts are many and they have a domino effect. Clear cutting which causes siltation in streams and reduces the quality of the soils. Most clear cuts are burned which releases CO2 into the atmosphere which contibutes to global warming. The clear cutting also destroys natural habitats of delicate ecosystems which therefore leads to a reduction in populations and possibly extinctions.
