It depends on the purpose you want the soap for. The ingredients do change for a hand soap compared to other soaps. However a hand soap requires the following:

- oil (as the source for triglycerides)

- quaternary compounds

- tricloxan

- some flower extracts (for imparting a good fragrance)

- lithium stereate

- palmic acid

- oleic acid

- fats

The Pink Hand Soap found in restaurant bathrooms has the following:

Surfactants - One of the most famous surfactants is soap - the foaming action of soap helps water get under dirt and grease on surfaces like dishes and hands, allowing the water to carry the dirt away.

Natural Emollients - commonly referred to as moisturizers - aloe vera, Jojoba oil, lanolin or even mineral oil work as an emollient.

Humectants - A humectant is a substance used to help retain moisture - in liquid soaps they include - glycerin, cocoa butter, shea butter, vegetable oil or mineral oil.

The main ingredient in liquid soap is water!

This combination quickly penetrates and removes dirt, grease and soil leaving your hands feeling soft and silky.

You can add oat meal for soft skin, crushed peach pits or walnuts act as an exfoliant. Essential oils for your custom scent - extracts from natural sources, such a few drops of lavender, vanilla or orange. And don't forget a drop of color.

Soap

The ACTIVE ingredient listed on a package of Dial soap is Triclocarban, 0.30% - an anti-bacterial chemical. Deodorant products aim to reduce or mask what we perceive as 'bad' bodily odor. Bodily odor is NOT from our own bodies but from bacteria living on our skin. Killing the bacteria reduces the amount of odor they emit.
