What are the laws of the Catholic Church?

Answer:
The law that governs the Catholic Church is Canon Law.
The Code of Canon law has it all. the Canon law was most recently revised in I believe l982 ( last major overhaul was l9l7- same year War Powers act came out!) Canon means rule or law- not firearms of the artillery type . There used to be five main sections and the marriage laws were under Section Five. Each law is referred to as a canon, and they are numbered like Canon l388 which forbids unauthorized disclosure of classified information, easy to remember, famous German Cannon ( the 88) plus the superstition-ridden number l3. Women who claim to have been subjected to dirty talk in the confessional booths sometimes invoke this one, and for the errant padre- look out below!
The collection of the Laws (crimes and punishments) of the Catholic Church is known as "Canon Law." Canon Law does not include "Liturgical Law," or any dogmatic statement of the faith.
