What are the laws regarding squatting in Canada?

Answer:
Currently there are no Squatting laws in Canada. There were Homestead laws back in 1870, but these no longer exist. However, if thirty or more people live in a "homestead" ranging from an abandoned apartment building to tents in an alley for longer than 2 YEARS then they can apply for legal protection as part of a NATO agreement.
Please note that this is protection, not a right or guarantee of property.
