∙ 16y agoThese are almost certainly mosquito larvae. There are "wigglers" and "twirlers", but they are just two different species of mosquitoes. Constant circulation and filtering will keep them from infesting your pool as they need still water to survive. You can also keep the pool covered when not in use. Proper chlorination will also help.

∙ 15y agoRed worms in your swimming pool are NOT dangerous to you but it is dangerous to the red worms. Red worms are much like earthworms. They need to be in soil not water with harmful chemicals such as chlorine. I have no red worms in MY pool as you so state.

∙ 11y agoAdjust the chlorine level in the pool water. If the chlorine is where it should be, any worms getting in the pool probably won't live longer than a few minutes, almost definitely dead within 30 minutes. If they're surviving longer, your pool's probably also soon to turn green if it's not green algae polluted water already.

∙ 10y agoThe best way to get rid of maggots in the pool is to drain it, clean the filter a few times, check the pH and ensure it remains at a 7, and use a higher level of chlorine than usual. In addition, vacuum the pool daily if there are maggots and scoop the dead maggots from the pool. Make sure no one uses the pool if there are maggots in it. Sometimes lines of chemicals around the pool will help keep maggots away. In addition, keep your trash in tied up bags, preferably away from the pool, so maggots cannot grow in the trash or be brought in by scavenging animals.

they are typically pavment ants, chaffer beetles or termites. The beetles don't actually eat the liner they scrape it.
