My dad and I used to sing this when I was a kid. I am now 52 and he is 76.
I accidentally came upon this site and this question which I call a divine appointment from God. My dad and I actually sang this song, today.
This is as close as I remember. A few words may be wrong??? But I actually think it is 99.8% accurate.
I hope you are still out there waiting for an answer.
God bless you
Vicki
INSIDE THE GATES
Oh how happy I will be when life's journey here is done.
When I look upon His face and I hear Him say, "Well done."
You have fought a faithful fight and my child you've kept the faith.
Enter now my joys are yours, so just step inside the gate.
Inside the gate
Inside the gate
Of home, sweet home.
No more to cry, No more to die,
A crown of life you've won.
You're safe at last, your sorrows past.
A mansion here forever.
Yes, all of this, I hear him say when I step inside the gates.
I will look for mother dear and I'll look for daddy too.
Sisters, brothers will be there, Heaven's joys with them I'll share.
And I'll hear little David play with my Jesus on that day.
Heaven's joys for me await when I step inside the gate.
Inside the gate
Inside the gate
Of home, sweet home.
No more to cry, no more to die,
A crown of life you've won.
You're safe at last, your sorrows past.
A mansion here forevermore.
Yes, all of this I'll hear Him say when I step inside the gates.
