Grains are the main foods in China. In the South of China, people eat rice daily. But people who live in the north prefer wheat. With the wheat they make steamed buns and noodles. Corn, millet, and sorghum are often eaten. Besides these main foods, there are a wide varity of desserts, refreshments and dishes across the whole territory of China. Chinese food can be divided into eight regional cuisines, and each locale's dishes have their own typical characteristics.

China's staple is rice, in fact, Asia's staple food is rice. In certain regions like Bangladesh or Pakistan, bread is more famous but rice is also consumed in large amounts.

In Chinese the word for rice can also be the word for food.

Soup noodles are by far one of the classics in China (Chicken soup noodles, braised duck noodles, dumpling noodles etc.).

Generally, the farming products of main food in China can be divided into 3 styles, those are, Rice in Southern and Eastern China, Wheat in Northern China and Sweet Corn in Middle, Northern, Western China. Like in my hometown, where is located in southern of China, we mainly have rice.
