The main network topolgies are: Bus- consist of running cables from one PC or file server to the next, like links on a chain. Ring- a continust path for dtat with no logicial beginning or ending point and thus no terminators

Star- the oldest communication design method in network technology. Star- Bus Hybrid Star Ring Hybrid Mesh

The types of Network Topologies are as follows: Bus or line - Use a common 'backbone' to connect all the devices. A single cable, the backbone functions as a shared communication medium that devices attach or tap into with an interface connector. A device wanting to communicate with another device on the network sends a broadcast message onto the wire that all other devices see, but only the intended recipient actually accepts and processes the message. Star - Many home networks use the star topology. A star network features a central connection point called a "hub" Tree - Tree topologies integrate multiple star topologies together onto a bus. In its simplest form, only hub devices connect directly to the tree bus, and each hub functions as the "root" of a tree of devices. This bus/star hybrid approach supports future expandability of the network much better than a bus (limited in the number of devices due to the broadcast traffic it generates) or a star (limited by the number of hub connection points) alone. Ring - In a ring network, every device has exactly two neighbors for communication purposes. All messages travel through a ring in the same direction (either "clockwise" or "counterclockwise"). A failure in any cable or device breaks the loop and can take down the entire network. Mesh - Mesh topologies involve the concept of routes. Unlike each of the previous topologies, messages sent on a mesh network can take any of several possible paths from source to destination. (Recall that even in a ring, although two cable paths exist, messages can only travel in one direction.) NOTE: THE NETWORK TOPOLOGY USED BY THE internet IS THE MESH S.Nash

Star - As it sounds, each node is connected to a central hub using a point to point connection, forming what looks like a star.

Ring - Computers are set up in a circle and data travels only in one direction, giving each node along the way a chance to broadcast.

Mesh - This is more like a grid system where everything is connected to everything else. The failure of one or more nodes in the network will not cause failure of any other points.

1- LAN (Local Area Network)

2- MAN ( Metropolitan Area Network)

3- WAN (Wide Area Network)

I know just about these three types of Network Topologies, IF any friends know about another one please give information about it...!!

What Types of network topology and give examples of each topology?

Network Topology refers to the way that cables and other pieces of hardware connect to one another. There are four common "base" types of topologies: bus, ring, star, and mesh. There are other types as well, but these are referred to as "hybrid topologies." The most commonly used network topology is a hybrid topology called the Star Bus Topology.

What is the network topologies function?

Network topologies is the means in which a network is structured. There are two types being physical and logical. Logical topology shows how data is delivered between a network.

What is the term network topology mean?

Network topology is the way a computer network is set up and arranged, Examples for possible topologies include ring, star, bus, and line. Each of these topologies have their advantages and disadvantages, with star being the most common in today's world.

What are the types of bus topology?

There are two basic categories of network topologies Physical topologies Logical topologies The shape of the cabling layout used to link devices is called the physical topology of the network. Logical topology is the way the signals act in the network In BUS topology you have "THE LINEAR BUS" and "THE DISTRIBUTED BUS" IN the LINEAR bus all the nodes of the network are connected to a common transmission medium which has 2 end points where as in the DISTRIBUTED, all the nodes are connected to a common transmission medium which has more than 2 end points.

What are the 3 common Lan topologies?

There is actually more than three topologies for networking. Network topologies are categorized into the following basic types: * bus * ring * star * tree * mesh More complex networks can be built as hybrids of two or more of the above basic topologies.
