The main network topolgies are: Bus- consist of running cables from one PC or file server to the next, like links on a chain. Ring- a continust path for dtat with no logicial beginning or ending point and thus no terminators

The types of Network Topologies are as follows: Bus or line - Use a common 'backbone' to connect all the devices. A single cable, the backbone functions as a shared communication medium that devices attach or tap into with an interface connector. A device wanting to communicate with another device on the network sends a broadcast message onto the wire that all other devices see, but only the intended recipient actually accepts and processes the message. Star - Many home networks use the star topology. A star network features a central connection point called a "hub" Tree - Tree topologies integrate multiple star topologies together onto a bus. In its simplest form, only hub devices connect directly to the tree bus, and each hub functions as the "root" of a tree of devices. This bus/star hybrid approach supports future expandability of the network much better than a bus (limited in the number of devices due to the broadcast traffic it generates) or a star (limited by the number of hub connection points) alone. Ring - In a ring network, every device has exactly two neighbors for communication purposes. All messages travel through a ring in the same direction (either "clockwise" or "counterclockwise"). A failure in any cable or device breaks the loop and can take down the entire network. Mesh - Mesh topologies involve the concept of routes. Unlike each of the previous topologies, messages sent on a mesh network can take any of several possible paths from source to destination. Star - As it sounds, each node is connected to a central hub using a point to point connection, forming what looks like a star.
Ring - Computers are set up in a circle and data travels only in one direction, giving each node along the way a chance to broadcast.
Mesh - This is more like a grid system where everything is connected to everything else. The failure of one or more nodes in the network will not cause failure of any other points.

Logical topology is the way the signals act in the network In BUS topology you have "THE LINEAR BUS" and "THE DISTRIBUTED BUS" IN the LINEAR bus all the nodes of the network are connected to a common transmission medium which has 2 end points where as in the DISTRIBUTED, all the nodes are connected to a common transmission medium which has more than 2 end points.
