I've recently visited Rome and some famous monuments are "The Colloseum", "The Pantheon", The Vatican although that is technically considered part of Vatican City. Another must see monument is "Trevi Fountain" and "The Forum".

There is the Vatican Museum, the crown jewel being Michelangelo's famed masterwork inside the Sistine chapel are a tangible reminder of the grandeur of another era.
The Uffizi Gallery which holds the world's largest collection of art from this substantial period of human growth.
Also Pisa boasts perhaps one of the most famous historical monuments in Italy, the beloved leaning tower, and its tilt preserved for centuries to come.
These are the only three I could think of. :)

No. The Roman Coliseum has been in ruins for centuries. Part of it was toppled by an earthquake in the Middle Ages and never rebuilt. The floor of the arena is long gone, and repairs would be needed before an event could be held there again. Some of the smaller Roman amphitheaters are still used for soccer games today, and bullfights in Spain and Portugal. [In Spain the bull is killed, in Portugal it is not.] And there are reenactors who stage gladiatorial games today, but never to the death as was often done in Roman times.
You can find the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy.
