This will depend on the type of job you are intereviewing for, but here are a few general questions that are meant to probe your ability to think on your feet, handle pressure, or to test your quantitative or qualitative reasoning skills.

These may be math or science oriented, or merely testing your creativity. Examples include:

  • You have a cube made of smaller cubes, each measuring 1x1x1. The large cube has dimensions 10 x 10 x 10. You remove one layer from the outside of the large cube (meaning all six faces are reduced by 1). How many cubes remain?

  • How many fish are there in the sea? (You will be asked to walk the interviewer through your thought process and estimations.)

  • Why are manhole covers round?

- PERSONALITY OR EXPERIENTIAL QUESTIONS -

These are generally used to test your ability to deal with pressure or work with a team, or to test your loyalty.

  • What did you dislike about your previous job?

  • What is your greatest weakness?

  • Tell me about a time you failed at something.
