Ayurveda considers obesity to be the result of the aggravation of Kapha dosha The Agni or the digestive fire is responsible for this. Certain life style habits including sleeping in the afternoon, not exerting oneself physically, consumption of too many sweetened foods etc are also some of the reasons for the aggravation of kapha dosha.
