What problems did mountain men face?

A little history: Mountain men were very successful in trapping, and almost made beavers extinct until beaver hats were not popular any longer. Later on, since the mountain men knew the land very well, they gave tours around the West, which is one of the reasons why people moved to the west.

I disagree. A mountain man was a fur trapper and traded his fur for items that he needed. The lifestyle of the men were very bad. They had hair that grew down to their sholders and faced many dangers while in the forests. They lived in the mountain in the 1800s.
