With his wife Marie-Louise Mangot, Rameau has four children:
1. Claude, born in 1727. His father bought him a load of valet to theking, he married in 1772 and has a son in 1773.
2. Marie-Louise, born in 1732, which takes in religion Visitation at Montargis in 1751 (the father generously endowed but does not attend the ceremony).
3. Alexander, born in 1740 and died before 1745
4. Marie-Alexandrine, born in 1744 (Rameau is then aged 61). She married in 1764, two months after the death of his father, Francois de Gaultier.
After the death of Rameau, his wife left the apartment on the Ruedes Bons Enfants in Paris and goes to live with his son Andrésy; she died in 1785.
The names of the last two children are a tribute to the farmer-general of Alexander the Pouplinière, Rameau's patron through which it could begin his career as a lyrical composer.
Jean-Philippe has a younger brother, also a musician Claude (less famous). The latter two son, musicians like him but to the existence of "failures": Jean-Francois Rameau that inspired Diderot matter of his book Rameau's Nephew Rameau and Lazarus.
