Afghanistan is made of mostly rugged mountains, and plains in north and southwest. Afghanistan is at risk for damaging earthquakes occurring in Hindu Kush mountains, along with flooding and droughts. The lowest point is Amu Darya 258 m, the highest point is Nowshak 7,485 m. There is an Arid-semi arid climate; with hot summers and cool winters.
