To be very general, producers make food from the sun, primary consumers eat them, secondary consumers eat them, and, depending on the ecosystem, a tertiary consumer or top consumer eats them.

Primary. It will eat leaves and fruits directly from primary producers. Gorillas very rarely eat any meat, so very rarely would the be secondary consumers.

Secondary or greater. They don't eat the grass. They eat things that eat plants (secondary) or the things that eat them (tertiary) or beyond.
