Parents lend their children their experience. And, as you gather experience throughout your life, the more you have of it, the more you can give to your children. That is the accepted wisdom. But being a young parent has its advantages too. It allows you to stay up at night and feel less worn out the next day. In other words it is easier to withstand the stresses of parenthood when you're young. I would say that wisdom will carry the day. That the greater your life experience, the better the chances of embuing your children with some of that wisdom. Read more about young parenthood in Sears "Caring for your Baby and Young Child." I would say being a young parent has its advantages and disadvantages because you will not be mature enough but when you have another baby you will be more experienced.
I'm a youngest child, and i must say, being the youngest, you many times get want you want and a lot of attention, but you are always underestimated in what you can do, and parents never seem to understand how hard it can be.
The disadvantages of being the first born child are just as plentiful as the advantages. The parents of a first born are obviously not experienced in raising a child, so many mistakes will occur. As I grew up, my parents made small mistakes in raising me but they did not make the same mistakes in raising my sister. Also, my sister received more attention than I did when she was born, considering she was just a baby. At times I felt like my parents were neglecting or ignoring me. The worst part was when my sister did something wrong, and my parents would make up excuses for her. Yet, when I did the same thing at her age, I was yelled at and put in a time out. My parents eased the rules for her and let her get away with much more than I did at her age. The disadvantages seem to be formed into a long list, but each drawback is small.
You would get picked on a lot by your older siblings. You will hardly ever get new things, because you will get either your siblings stuff or Hand-Me-Downs from others!!
