It depends how badly the child/children were abused and how long it had been going on for. Some abusers only get a short period in prison, some get life, and if a parent had abused their child so badly that the child had died, they could get the death penalty. But always, if a parent is proved to have abused their child, that child and every other child they have will be taken away.

very bad
