According to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, (South African), the minimum required contents of a first aid box are: 1. Antiseptic lotion - 100ml - 1 2. Gauze swab - 100's - 1 3. Splint padding, 100mm x 1m - 2 4. Sterile Gauze Swabs, 5's - 2 5. Forceps - 1 6. Pair of scissors - 1 7. Safety pins, 12's - 1 8. Triangular bandages, non-woven - 4 9. Conform bandages, 75mm - 4 10. Conform bandages, 100m - 4 11. Plaster roll, 25mm x 3m - 1 12. Non-allergenic tape, 25mm x 3m - 1 13. Plasters, assorted, 24's - 1 14. FAD No 3, 75mm - 4 15. FAD No 5, 15mm - 4 16. Splints - 2 17. Latex gloves (medium) - 2 pairs 18. Latex gloves (large) - 2 pairs 19. CPR Mouth pieces - 2 20. Blood Spillage Kit - 1 Note: There is no medication in a kit because it is illegal for a First Aider to administer prescription or any other medication, not even a headache tablet!
