You have to be a male US citizen, be between the ranks of E-4 (Corporal/Specialist) and E-8 (Master Sergeant/First Sergeant). You also need to have at least two years left on your current enlistment, and a high enough ASVAB score in order to attend the pre-selection briefing. Afterwards, you'll be put through a rigorous selection process that includes ruck marches that reach up to 40 miles, swimming, shooting, etc. If you pass selection, then they will send you to their Operator Training Course, which will last about 6 months. If you make it through that, you will then be placed on an operational team within the Unit.

Most Delta operators are former Rangers and Special Forces soldiers. This is not a requirement, but time in these units will greatly increase your chances of passing selection and the following training.

You must also meet the following qualifications:

  • Male
  • Volunteer(recruited and accept voluntarily)
  • Be a U.S. Citizen
  • Pass a modified Class II Flight Physical
  • Be Airborne qualified or volunteer for airborne training
  • Pass a background security investigation and have at least a secret clearance.
  • Pass the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT), FM 21-20,75 points each event in the 22-26 age group, (55 pushups in two minutes,62situps in two minutes, and a 2 mile run in 15:06 or less), wearing your unit PT uniform.
  • Minimum of two years active service remaining upon selection to the unit.
  • Advance Course graduate.

Which us military force has the longest and hardest training Marines Rangers Green Berets Deltaforce or Navy SEALs?

DEVGRU(Naval Special Warfare Development Group) formerly known as SEAL Team 6 has a 9 month Special Operations Assaulter course. Im positive that Delta Force's selection time would be very similar to this,it used to be 6 months. But since the 2000's Special Operations units have been upping the anty on there selection courses. DEVGRU and Delta Force are very comparable so im sure Delta's selection is probably about the same.
