Huge is the simple answer.

The only viable reasons for declawing a dog are medical, through injury or infection. It is barely necessary to clip a dogs claw if it is exercised correctly Declawing, like docking is, usually done for the vanity of the owner.

Why does a dog that eats dry dog food also catch rabbits and birds eats them?

Instincts! It's like asking why a human who has eaten a huge plate of spaghetti can still eat a piece of cheesecake afterward. It's just the way humans are. Dogs have their own instincts, and rabbits and birds are very appealing to some dogs. However, eating wild animals can expose your dog to certain health risks (worms, infections, etc.), so talk with your vet about how best to protect your dog from these risks.

What are paw coverings for little cats?

Safe plastic nail caps are available for both cats and dogs in a variety of sizes and colors. Especially for cats, these covers offer a humane alternative to declawing. Using a small amount of adhesive, the nail caps are applied to cover the nail. This prevents pets claws from scratching furniture, floors, and people with sensitive skin. They are called SoftPaws and are available here: http://www.softpaws.org/

Can you get a cat's claw stuck in your skin?

Yes. This procedure is often called "declawing". Declawing involves major surgery, as it is not just the removal of claws; it is actually the amputation of the first digit of each of the cat's toes. The claw is tightly attached to the bone, so much so that it is impossible to remove the claw on its own, so the bone attached to the claw is removed as well. In human terms, it would be the equivalent of chopping off each finger tip at the first knuckle. Due to the physical and mental problems that can develop due to this procedure, declawing a cat is a highly controversial, and more and more veterinarians do not offer the service. Many countries around the world as well as some states in the United States have banned this procedure as it is deemed unnecessary and inhumane, unless it is needed for a legitimate medical reason.

How old is too old to spay a dog?

A dog is never too old to be spayed. The risks involved in administering anesthesia begin to sharply increase around age 6 years. Even then, as long as a dog is healthy, spaying is far less risky than having a litter. Dogs don't go through menapause, and they can have litters throughout their mature lives. If you have a dog that's over 6 years old and you want to have her spayed, the veterinarian can do blood test and check her out to minimize her risks. As a spay/neuter activist, I've seen "outside", neglected dogs up to 13 years old get spayed after having an unwanted litter and do well. The concern for older dogs is pyometra--a very common uterine infection which can be life-threatening. Also, other risks for intact older dogs include uterine and ovarian cancer.

What risks do female dogs have if they aren't spayed?

They risk getting pregnant and having puppies. Most cities have dog pounds that are filled with living dogs that nobody wants. Most of these dogs will be killed after a while. So it's better usually for female dogs to be spayed, so they won't have more puppies.
