Try just going to a mass and watch, you do not have to interact, you can just sit there, or just get up and down and kneel like everyone else does to get the feel of it.
If you are not a catholic and sit during the mass the others know you are not catholic and will accept it.
I went to a non-denominaton church and did the same thing just to see how it was, you either like it or you don't
