Somebody wants you to answer: Patricians and Plebeians. Originally, Patricians were those families who were Roman from the foundation of the city; plebeians were later immigrants. In time, this became a class divisionl; but the Plebeians, many of whom had grown rich, gradually took on the title of full Roman citizens and the class structure became entirely mixed. There were rich people, poor people and slaves in the late republic and Empire; but most of the rich were by now of plebeian ancestry.
