What are the rules of Australian football?

Answer:
There are many rules - but essentially there 2 teams of 22 players (18 on the field at once, and 4 interchanges).

The aim is to kick goals - you can kick or handball (like punching the ball from your hand) - but you cannot throw the ball.

You can tackle opponents, but only if they have the ball. If you mark (catch) the ball after it is kicked (not handballed) - opponents cannot approach you until the umpire plays on, giving you a little more time to pass the ball, or run.

You can only run about 15m without either bouncing or touching the ball to the ground.

Goals are worth 6 points, behinds are worth 1 point. The team with the most points after the 4 quarters wins. There are more rules, but these are the basics.
