John 3:16 in the bible says it all. "For God loved us so much, that He gave His one and only Son, That who ever believes in Him, shal have everlasting life." Jesus also tells us to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and love your neighbor as you love yourself. But as the first person answered, you must accept Jesus Christ as your savior. That's all there is to it.
