What are the side effects of crohn's diseases treatment?

Stomach upset, headache, dizziness, trouble sleeping, or weight gain may occur. Side effects that are unlikely but serious are: black stools, bone pain (fracture), "coffee-ground" vomit, easy bruising/bleeding, heartburn, increased thirst and urination, irregular/fast/pounding heartbeat, menstrual period changes, mental/mood changes, muscle weakness/pain, persistent weight gain, puffy face, seizures, signs of infection (e.g., fever, persistent sore throat), slow-healing wounds, stomach/abdominal pain, swelling of the feet/ankles, thinning skin, trouble breathing, unusual hair growth, unusual skin growths, vision changes. (Contact your doctor immediately!) Serious allergic reactions to this drug are unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

It depends on what medications you are being treated with. A lot of Crohn's patient's experience softer gums/gum issues, sore teeth, cavities, enamel breakdown and cracking teeth to the point that they may need removal. To avoid this is you are just beginning treatment, start a dose of Vitamin D every day, along with extra: Calcium, Zinc, Vitamin C, and B Vitamins. These are the most common deficiencies through not being absorbed by the gut as they would in other healthy people.
