What are the signs of a convulsion?

Answer:

Convulsions are involuntary contractions of voluntary muscles that are more than momentary, and the patient cannot surpress. The ten symptoms of convulsions are:

  • Body twitching
  • Body spasms
  • Jerking limbs
  • Head spasms
  • Facial spasms
  • Fits
  • Bowel incontinence
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Sleeping after convulsions (post-dictal torpor).

Convulsions do not typically manifest all of these symptoms in one episode. Note also that convuslions are not themselves the disease, but are diagnostic of an underlying problem.
