What are the similarities between Judaism Christianity and Islam?

Answer:
Answer 1
  • Prophets of the three religions are descendants of the prophet Abraham (Ibrahim).
  • The three religions call for the same God worshiping
  • They also follow the basic ten commandments
  • The three religions call for practicing same basic ritual worships (although differently in the rituals) as praying, fasting, alms giving, etc.
  • The three religions call for the same morals that governs human relationships.

Muslims call Christians and Jews as "people of the book" as they are holders of the God holy books; Torah and the Bible; that Muslims believe that these books are revelation of God to the God prophets Moses and Jesus; respectively.

They are monotheistic religions. They believe not only in one god, but in the SAME god. God made the first contract with the Jews, as the chosen people (Old Testament); then, according to the Christians, God made a new contract with the followers of Jesus Christ (New Testament), and according to the Koran both people became unworthy of the grace of God, so he made a third contract with the Muslims.

Answer 2
Monotheistic religions, namely they believe that there is only one God and that this God is the origin and source of all that exists.

  • They are all creators of a new religion (except for Christianity, which is a reform of Judaism).
  • We are the children of Abraham.(also they all believe in abraham)
  • Share similar prophets (Moses)
  • Hopeful about the future. Evil and suffering cannot ultimately prevail. God has provided a condition (or state of being) for us = Paradise.
  • God and human beings can and should communicate with each other. By revelation God communicates to people, among which the most important are revelation through prophets. (Holy books)

Answer 3
The similarities among the three religions are probably greater than the differences. They also share many of these similarities with Zoroastrianism:
  • Belief in the same supreme God
  • Belief in heaven and hell (NOT JUDAISM)
  • Belief in the devil (also not Judaism)
  • Belief in angels
  • Belief in the patriarchs of the Hebrew Bible - Abraham, Moses, etc.
  • Belief that Adam was the first man
  • Belief in the final judgement and resurrection (more believed in the apocalyptic believers).
  • Belief in helping others and doing what is right (More Judaism than the others, Christianity and Islam are more focused on believing in God, Islam Means "Peace And Obedience" that would make sense. Christianity's focused on Creed over Dead, i.e. belief over doing. Judaism is the exact opposite though, with their belief of Deed over Creed.

Answer 4
All three religions believe in God and in ethical behavior, but the similarities, for the most part, end there.

Answer 5
all scriptures advise, believe&pray to only one god, (quran,bible,10commands,hindu vedas and etc...)

Answer 6
In reality, there really is no similarity to best describe the Judeo-Christian beliefs of God to the Muslim Islamic belief.

Judaism and Christianity have the Old Testament in common. Islam believes both OT and NT have been partially corrupted in transmission while the Koran is believed by Muslims to be the final and infallible revelation of God's will.

Though Muslims believe in God which they call Allah, Islam teaches that Allah is all-powerful, sovereign and 'unknowable' while Judaism and Christianity both teach the Creator God to be revealed as merciful, compassionate and knowable (see Jeremiah 9:24 and John 17:3).

The Christian text teaches the God of the Old Testament was the Word and it was He who Abraham and the other patriarchs and prophets worshiped. Islam teaches the Word, aka Jesus 'as one of perhaps 124,000 messengers of prophets Allah has sent and is one of the 25 listed in the Koran - but He is not the redeemer' (Marvin Olasky, "Islam vs. Liberty," World, Sept 10, 2011).

All in all, there are more differences and conflicts between the Judeo-Christian texts and the Muslim text, as well as the Koran conflicts with secular history.

Answer 7
The most important unifying characteristic is that the followers of the three religions worship same God, the Creator. The prophets of the three religions call for worship the same God and call for full submission to God will (that means Islam in Arabic).

The three religions call their followers to pray for God, Alms giving, and fasting although the rituals are different

Refer to question below.

Answer 8
Islam, Christianity, & Judaism all come from Abraham, aka Abram. Abraham's two sons, Isaac and Ishmael started the Jewish and Islamic faiths. Christianity later came from the Jewish faith. Since they all come from the same roots, so to speak, they all believe in some of the same things, such as there is only one God, even if it may have different names to the three religions.

Answer 9
The only common thread within Judaism, Christianity, and Islam is the monotheistic acceptance of the God of Israel as the one, and only, God.
