1)open type enclosure-(it is open from both the ends)

2)protected type enclosure-(not completely open from both the ends)

3)drip proof type enclosure-(does not allow liquid or moisture to enter)

4)totally enclosed enclosure-(does not allow foreign particles to enter)

5)pipe ventilated enclosure-(used for providing ventilation for motor)

6)flame proof enclosure-(used when motor is to be used in explosive atmosphere)
