Surface waves, Secondary waves, Primary waves :) I had this as a science question in school a few weeks ago... hope this helps :) Oh whoops i didnt log in so i did it again.... :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
In earth quakes the S wave is slower than the P wave.
On a water surface the group velocity is lower than the phase velocity. Note that phase velocity is not the speed with which the wave travels.
The surface waves of which there are two (the Love and Rayleigh wave) have the slowest velocity of the seismic waves.
surface waves are the slowest seismic waves.
Surface waves are the slowest. P-waves are the fastest and S-waves are second fastest.

A seismic wave, or an earthquake.
A tsunami wave is a wave of energy that travels through water, while a seismic wave is a wave of energy that travels through earth.
A seismic wave travels through the Earth's layers, after a volcano, explosion, or earthquake. Transverse, compressional, longitude, and shear waves are all types of seismic waves after earthquakes.

A body wave is a seismic wave that travels through Earths interior.
