When the skin is abraded deeply, capillaries and other blood vessels are ruptured and spill blood into the wound. Before the skin can begin to heal, debris left in the wound must be removed. White blood cells help battle bacteria and other contaminants. Platelets and other clotting factors in the blood form a scab that protects the wound and serves as a lattice for the new healthy skin cells to fill in as the scrape heals.

well first you're red blood cells rush to the cut and bleed to wash out any poison or particles in your cut scrap.,etc.then the white blood cells come in and sew the skin back together then it forms a scap and then the inner layer finally the outer layer.

Post piercing there is the swelling and initial discharge. Then as you get into two weeks the piercing should start to return to a more normal or prepiercing appearance. You will still have discharge as the piercing forms it's light heal and then as the healing progresses the amount of discharge will start to ease off.

Now piercings regardless of what or where they are are not considered seasoned until they are a year old. However jewellery changing can be considered at the 3~6 moth point should this be deemed necessary.
