if it is a black hamster then the signs are grey or white hairs. another sign is sadly lumps on body or aka cancer. if this is the case dont make it suffer and have it put down by your veternarian. also the lifespan of a hamster is 2-3 years. your lucky if a hamster lives to 3 although i once knew on that lived to four. look up how to tell how old your hamster is on Google. by the way whats your hamsters name and what kind is it???
There are actually a lot of symptoms of old age. If the hamster's fur is thinning or changing color, cataracts are showing in their eyes, or they seem to get more crabby, it's possible that old age is the reason. Keep in mind when self-diagnosing your hamster, however, that they live only for a few years. Five at the most. If a younger hamster is experiencing these symptoms, I would contact your local small animal vet.
The animal would become lethargic, with sparse and labored breathing.
A dying hamster may not move as it used to. It may also have a reduced heart rate because it is struggling.
1. it' doesn't eat 2.he/she moves slower
3.not interested in food/water
4.heavy breathing
5.sleeps a lot
6.mite not move when you poke it
like its dying
A person can save a dying hamster by taking it to a vet for small animals. They may be able to fix the issue at hand.
how old is he/she and what are the signs? sickness or oldness?
Yes, your hamster is likely dying. Two years, though not much time for is, is almost a complete life for a hamster. If she is not in any pain, then just enjoy the time you have left. If she does seem to be in pain, I would recommend visiting the vet. Blessings.
It's either pregnant or dying. Get it to a vet.
http://www.hamsters.co.uk/hamster_health.htm This site lists lots of hamster illnesses and their symptoms. General signs of a sick hamster are listlessness, lethargy, and acting unlike how it usually does. Hope it was helpful!
Take it to the vet ASAP. If these are the symptoms, that means your hamster is very close to dying. Your hamster is not sleeping. It is just waiting to die, so it closes it's eyes. Take it to the vet!
