I would like to have answered: "Stiffness." However, there is no such thing as "concrete poisoning." Concrete can cause of number of health problems upon exposure. The most notable of which is associated with the slaked lime in concrete which upon mixture with water becomes calcium hydroxide. Calcium hydroxide can cause serious dermal burns which are not only extremely painful, but the individual is usually not aware of the damage to their skin until it's too late. The dermal burning may require intensive medical intervention. Inhalation irritation is next, and usually, the irritation is such that the individual cannot tolerate the pain and extricates one's self from the exposure before too much damage to respiratory epithelial. Next is inhalation of the crystalline silica in the mix, for which there are no signs or symptoms of exposure. Where sand is being used, one should always be cognizant of silica exposures.
