What are the types of lettering?

Answer:
Calligraphy is one kind of lettering, but with the line widths changed in different parts of the letters.

Calligraphy, done with ink and a quill is a type of lettering and an artform in itself. For Type faces or fonts, look on the toolbar of your PC and click on "font". They are each named for style and recognition.
There are four basic kinds of computer fonts:
1. Serif - has little lines (called serifs) on the ends of the lines making up the letters. Example: Times New Roman

2. Sans-serif - Does not have the little lines. (Sans means without.) Example: Arial.

3. Cursive - looks like handwriting. Example: Hancock.

4. Special - the characters are symbols instead of letters. Example: Wingdings.
