Best Answer

Carbon is commonly used in the form of hydrocarbons, such as fossil fuel, methane gas, and crude oil (petroleum). When crude oil is distilled in refineries, it makes gasoline and kerosene. Charcoal is basically impure carbon, which is created when burning an organic substance with the absence of air. It is a popular drawing material used in art, for grilling, and sometimes when smelting iron.

Diamonds are often used for polishing, grinding, drilling, or cutting glass, metals, and other materials.

Graphite mixed with clay works well as pencil lead since it rubs off so easily. It can also be used as a lubricant. This allotrope of carbon is used as a refractory, as well. Graphite is used to line ovens to protect them high temperatures because of its resistance to heat.

Hope this helps :D

carbon can be used for lampblack, allotrope, gas, fuels, and lubricants, and lovely diamonds! (diamonds are a pure form of carbon).

Organic chemistry also involves all thing carbon. The most abundant elements in our body are Hydrogen, Carbon, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Sulphur. It is a VERY important element.

Carbon have a configuration of 2 and 4. These 4 electrons make is so unique that entire Organic chemistry goes round it. One carbon can attach to another and chin and other cyclical compounds can be formed by this union. Life would have been impossible without Carbon. All other uses are secondary.

Carbon is used for filter Carbon in fish tanks and cars etc. Carbon has many industrial uses for its three forms; amorphous, diamond, and graphite. The amorphous form (coal) is used in power plants, and is used in the iron industry to make steel. The diamond form is used as jewelry, and is used as part of cutting tools. The graphite form is a great conductor and is used for pencils and sports equipment.

Carbon is the most commonly found element on earth. It is found in solid and gaseous states. In its gas state it can often be harmful. In its solid state however, it is found as diamonds and other minerals. Carbon makes up energy rich fossil fuels such as coal. The human body needs certain amounts of carbon to survive.

Carbon is an extremely common element. It is the foundation for organic molecules. Our life is based around carbon molecules. Energy sources as fossil fuels and sugars. The graphite on your pencil is entirely carbon, and diamond is also pure carbon.

It's a difficult question to answer because it has so many answers. Hope that helps
