What are three views on abortion?

Answer:
1. That it is a woman's choice, and an absolute. That it should be able to occur with no restrictions whatsoever at any time, even as the baby is about to be born. That any type of parental permission, waiting or reflection is an unwarranted attack upon women. That not only is it a choice, but the only choice, and that for any to speak of another option is, and should be, punished by prison. That to even consider the potential father's opinion in this is nothing less than the rape of all women on Earth. That no abortionist should have to keep records or register or have any oversight at all, and that they may set their fees as they will.

2. That it is an abomination in the eyes of God, and a hell-worthy offense so vile that in comparison the Jewish Holocaust looks like a small child's pilfering of a cookie. That no matter whether a physically and mentally retarded father repeatedly raped his daughter till she was pregnant, and that to give birth to the incestuously deformed offspring would result in her certain death, she must not abort. That any and all who even think somewhat in favor of it, even in the most highly restricted of cases, must be tracked down, found, and destroyed even unto the seventh generation.

While the above two groups get the most media coverage, they comprise about .0001% of the nation. The rest of us - 99.99% - hold a third opinion.

3. That we hope an abortion will not be necessary, and certainly believe in making all forms of birth control available to avoid an unwanted pregnancy. That we hope that any unwanted pregnancy will be due to the failure of the birth control, and not for irresponsibility on the part of either the man or woman. That all options be considered if one is pregnant. That the opinion of the potential father, and of an underage girl's parents, be at least considered, unless good reasons exist to the contrary, in which case a judge should sign off on it.

That no one block abortion clinics, but that no one be imprisoned for standing near one with signs.

And that if abortion is chose, that it occur as soon in the pregnancy as possible, preferably in the first trimester. That only to save the mother's life would an abortion occur in the final trimester. And that the highly disturbing and contentious "partial birth" abortions be prohibited, unless it is the only option to save the mother's physical life.

I am personally aware of Catholics and Feminists who agree with the third. The ones who believe in the first two are just the loudest, the most devisive, and the most dangerously extreme.
