Tories were people during the revolutionary war who were pro British and preferred to be ruled by an inbred monarchy. This term also refers to the members of the modern day Conservative Party in the UK; not to be confused with American Conservatives who are basically religious zealots, bigots and only care about the wealthiest members of society.
