Spinning on its axis, or rotating, is one of earth's movements and it gives us the experience of day and night. The earth also revolves around the sun (in its orbit) and this gives us the seasons [by way of the axial tilt] and years. These are two of several different movements that earth makes.

I can think of more:

  • Rotation around the axis (giving us day and night) [add to this nutation and precession!]
  • Revolution around the Sun (giving us yearly variations)
  • Motion around the galaxy (about 220 million years per turn maybe giving us some periodic climactic changes?)
  • Galactic motion towards "The Great Attractor"
It all depends on your frame of reference!

If the earth is rotating why space is so silent?

If you expect the rotation to produce a sound, that would require the Earth to scrape against something. This would produce sound and heat, and make the Earth's movement slow down gradually. However, space is almost empty.
