If DCFS has investigated and found a report to be false then no further action will be taken. Sometimes the report is held for a specified length of time, but privacy laws protect such information and therefore protect the child/children and parent(s) or caregiver. If the report has been found valid the case will be taken up in the appropriate court for a decision on what action is to be taken concerning the well-being of the child/children and possible prosecution of the parent(s) or caregiver. If it is a matter of judicial proceedings the person(s)who have been alledged to have committed the abuse should obtain legal representation.
