Space is a different environment and the human race has alway gone to places where they have never been before. just wanting to go out into space leads to the development of new technology's and new materials. we are also trying to find new manufacturing methods and create materials that can not be created in gravity. Besides which mans warlike nature put pressure on him to be able to protect himself from others that develop space capability's. We cant even begin to imagine just what we are going to discover in the future as we move into space.
