If it has asparagus - no wine. Wine and asparagus hate each other.
Otherwise: match the wine to the meat content. White meat, a frascati or a soave; dark meat a barbera or a barolo. Spicy sausage would probably respond well to something a little edgier: perhaps a Valpolicella.
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo will go with anything ... except chocolate, asparagus, and chocolate coated asparagus.
